BLACKBOOKS BOOKSHOP & TEAHOUSE is a “mobile shop” that supplies Quality Recycled Books and Premium Leaf Teas to the discerning reader and / or tea drinker.

Books and teas can be purchased in person at Rusty’s Market, Cairns, on Fridays and at a range of other local markets throughout Cairns, the Tablelands and Cassowary Coast on Saturdays and Sundays.

Blackbooks stocks high quality second-hand books. 

Specialising in good literature, select bestsellers and genre books, and an interesting range of non-fiction, biographies and true stories.  Most of the books are in almost as new condition and sell for only $8 to $12.  Bargain Box and Specials can be available for only $2 to $6 if the condition is not up to scratch.

Blackbooks Teas have 40 Premium Quality Teas currently in their range:

Over 12 Fermented Black Teas including: Local FNQ tea, Tarry Lapsang Souchong, Chai Masala and Green Jade Oolong Tea, ranging from $3.50 to $10.50 a 60g tin.  Refill packs are available for $1.50 less per pack.

Over 10 Green and White Teas including Chinese Gunpowder, Japanese Sencha, Citron Green Tea and Buddha Tears. These range from $4.00 to $15.00 for a 60g plastic lined bag.

Over 16 Herbal Infusions, Rooibos Teas and Fruit Tisanes including: Lemon Myrtle, Field of Dreams, Organic Rooibos and Turkish Apple. These range from $4.50 to $9.50 for a 60g plastic lined bag.

All teas can be packaged and purchased in larger quantities by prior arrangement.

Blackbooks also carries a small range of very competitively priced infusers, mugs and teapots to make your real tea drinking experience more convenient.

The drinking of “proper” leaf tea, (ie. not supermarket teabags) is an age old tradition that offers many health benefits and taste sensations.  If you have become used to settling for inferior mass produced teabags you will be pleasantly surprised at the enjoyment, satisfaction and advantages that can be had from “real tea”. We have many organic and naturally caffeine free alternatives to tempt you!
